Depression Symptoms
What Are Clinical Depression Symptoms?Sadness and grief are a normal part of the human experience, with life events such as a family death, relationship issues or stressful work conditions triggering depressive symptoms. However having the blues or feeling sad is quite different to being diagnosed with a depressive disorder. Clinical depression lasts for more than two weeks and the effects are felt most of the time and on most days. Symptoms That May Indicate Clinical Depression
- Depressed mood lasting longer than two weeks
- Diminished interest or pleasure in favourite activities
- Loss of appetite or increased appetite
- Insomnia or sleeping too much
- Feeling restless or agitated
- Fatigue or loss of energy
- Feeling worthless
- Diminished ability to concentrate
- Recurrent thoughts of death or suicide
